St George’s is a lively friendly church made up of people of all ages, who love to meet with God in worship, enjoy being family together, and to share the goodness of God and the Good News of Jesus.
We are based in the High Street of the delightful coastal town of Deal, and meet in three congregations in the week, with groups meeting midweek, and good provision for children and young people. Everyone is welcome!
The three most important aspects of our church life we identified relate to our life
towards God, our life towards one another and our life towards the world.
Our core value is meeting with God in worship. Our identity and calling flow from an encounter with the living God. In corporate worship, we seek and expect to experience His life-changing presence. God is present in personal prayer, small groups, Communion, or lively Family worship. Worship, prayer, and ministry are therefore foundational to our life together.
Family is central at St George’s, reflecting a precious Biblical value. We aim to show God’s love through welcome and community life, creating places of belonging, hope, and purpose. While none of us is perfect, our shared life is where God works to shape us into Jesus’ likeness. That love shows in kindness, generosity, accessibility, and hospitality.
The gospel’s hope reaches beyond our church. Entrusted with Jesus’ good news, we are called to embody God’s Kingdom in our community. Individually and together, we engage our neighbours, share His love, and invite others into the story of hope in Jesus. As a church family, we step beyond our walls, tell our stories of grace, and welcome others to experience God’s Kingdom.
