Giving to St George's Church

For Those Who Would Like to Give

hands

The Church Council of St George’s commit to careful stewardship of all church income, and as a registered charity fully comply with the requirements of the Charity Commissioners. We set budgets each year and have annually audited published accounts showing where the money is spent. We also tithe our income, giving 10% of the donations we receive for the work of mission in the UK and overseas.

Your tithes and offerings assist us as together we seek to share the goodness of God in every area of society.

How Can You Help to resource the life and ministry of St George’s?

The best way is to join a planned giving scheme

We recommend that all donors join the Parish Giving Scheme (PGS) and make
their regular or one-off donations to St George's through PGS.

Benefits for the donor -
  • You can give monthly, quarterly or annually by Direct Debit
  • You can change the amount you give at any time
  • You can sign up to increase your giving by inflation each year to maintain the value of your gift
  • You can give anonymously if you prefer
It benefits the church and treasurers by -
  • Less cash lowers the risk for volunteers and reduces the time spent counting cash and banking
  • A regular predicted income aids budgeting and planning
  • The option for givers to increase their gift by inflation each year helps to ensure that your churches mission and ministry remain financially sustainable
  • Gift Aid administration is significantly reduced
  • Cash flow benefits from monthly Gift Aid claims
