What's Important to Us
Love God, Live Fully,
Make a Difference
The goodness of God
Ultimately, the thing that is most important is what the bible refers to as the glory of God - His amazing goodness, perfection and love. We see it most clearly revealed in the person, life and teaching of Jesus who is "the radiance of God's glory, and the exact representation of His being"
{ Hebrews 1:3 }
Life in all its fullness
When He was talking about the reality that life is sometimes tough, Jesus said "I have come that you might have life, life in all its fullness"
{ John 10:10 }
No-one has ever known how to live as well as Jesus, and His greatest desire is that everyone discovers the fullness of life that He came to bring. Following Jesus isn't primarily about church, or religious activity, but is about living life to the full with Him.
Disciple-making
The heart of our vision is for the church to be a family of followers of Jesus. Where everyone is learning to love and live like Him, being missionary servants, transforming the world one life at a time.
It's a vision to fulfill the command of Jesus as He ascended into heaven when He said:
"So go to all peoples everywhere, make disciples, baptizing them into the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you."
{ Matthew 28:19-20 }
The business of the church is making disciples, that is followers, apprentices or imitators of Jesus, who know how to help others become disciples of Jesus too. That's what we want our focus to be.
Family
We're about being family, God's family where everyone has a place and everyone plays a part; where we love one another, support one another, encourage one another and where necessary challenge one another to become more like Jesus.
Blessing
We long to see the goodness of God to be shown in every area of society through His family, the church. Just as Jesus came "not to be served, but to serve" so we are called to reach out in love to those around us. We have been blessed, and we want to be a blessing.
Transformation
We believe that God created each and every person to reflect His greatness and goodness, but we often fall short in our attempts to be everything that He would wish us to be. God dealt with everything that is wrong, and everything that makes us less than He desires by dying on the cross and rising to new life on Easter morning. Through trusting in the risen Jesus, God longs to restore us and make us everything that He would like us to be as He lives within and among those who trust in Him.
